Missing That Extra Touch

Hopefully right now you are all following Daddy Andy’s advice and staying healthy at home, and while this is the best practice for these uncertain times, you might be like me and thinking...

“Will I EVER get to have sex again?!”

I’m a single lady living by myself who only goes out for essential errands. What this means is that I’m not “getting any,” which can be incredibly frustrating if you’re the type of person who has an active sex drive.

This might lead you to thinking, “Well, it can’t be THAT bad if I just call *insert hookup buddy’s name here* for a little fun, right? What could be the worst thing that happens?”

Uhm, COVID-19?

Whether you're single like me or in a relationship, here are some questions you might want answered during these unprecedented times.

Can Coronavirus be sexually transmitted?

As of right now, there are no studies showing that Coronavirus can be transmitted through sexual bodily fluids. It is however transmitted through respiratory droplets, saliva, and mucus, so chances are if you’re breathing close to or on the person you’re doing the deed with, you could spread the infection to them and vice-versa.

What if I live with my partner?

With the virus being spread through respiratory droplets, there’s a very good chance that if you or your partner is infected, the other is also infected. Between sharing a living space, dishes, and a bed, having sex with the person you’re living with won’t up your liklihood of getting the infection. Just remember to follow social distancing protocols to keep both you and your partner safe if at all possible (i.e. you’re not an essential worker).

This could also be a great time for you and your partner to reconnect while you have some extra time on your hands. How can you spice things up, you ask? Here are a couple options:

• Give each other a massage. Heat it up with a soy based candle or add some textured massage gloves and aromatherapy massage lotion.

Play a card game that gets you talking and trying new scenarios and positions!

Introduce some new lubricants or toys into the mix like a flavored whipped lubricant and a pleasure sleeve or a panty vibrator that comes with a remote for your partner to hold on to!

What if I have a partner but we don’t live together?

Your best chance of limiting your risk of infection is to not interact with people you don’t live with. Unfortunately, that means your long term partner, friend with benefits, or random person you met at the bar a month ago is going to have to wait.

I know, I know, it sucks, but it’s what’s best for you both. You might know that you’ve followed social distancing recommendations but that doesn’t mean your partner has too, and in this situation, it’s probably better safe than sorry.

This doesn’t mean though that you should go move in with your significant other right now just so you can do the deed. Instead, if you’re into it you and your partner can have video-chat dates or even sext. You can even slip on a piece of our Pure Romance lingerie to boost your confidence and show off for yourself or partner, or hit up Kaitlin for a super-fun webcam photo shoot like I did, featuring some of my favorite Pure Romance lingerie pieces!

Take The Plunge: Halter Chemise

Woke Up Like This: Bralette Set

If you’re interested in meeting new people, hit up dating apps like Hinge or Bumble. They both have video dating capabilities now where you can meet “face-to-screen” when you’re both ready!

So you’re saying that I’ll never get to orgasm again?

This, my friend, is where you’re wrong. Just because you can’t get down and dirty with someone else doesn’t mean you can’t take care of yourself. Masturbation is the HEALTHIEST way you can get off right now if you’re not living with your partner or are single.

A few benefits of masturbation include stress release, enhanced sleep quality, elevated mood, and getting to know yourself better. Just think, the more in tune you get with yourself during “quarantimes,” the better you’ll be able to get off once you’re hanging out with that hottie you met on Hinge or Bumble.

I know times are tough but as Andy says, “We will get through this. We will get through this together!” I’m here to help in any way I can whether it’s sexual health and wellness tips or giving you a fun and free virtual ladies night to let off some steam.
